A Kaniksu Community Health Addiction Mental Health Counselor is not just responsible for providing excellent care. They are committed to providing an excellent patient experience while performing essential clinical duties in a fast-paced, productive environment. YOU ARE an essential team member charged with assisting patients in managing their care at Kaniksu Community Health. As an Addiction Mental Health Counselor, a typical day might include:
Providing confidential addiction counseling, education and support to individuals, families and the community. Promoting healthy lifestyles and healthy choices. Perform psychosocial assessments and provide ongoing direct social work services to patients and families. Identify unmet psychosocial needs and develop programs to address those needs.
Experience Needed to Land this Gig:
LPC, LCPC, LMSW, LCSW or currently enrolled in a Masters degree program in the Behavioral Science Field from an accredited university or college with intent for licensure. Must meet Idaho code for Qualified Substance Use Disorder Professional. Working knowledge of administrative procedure of a Federally funded community health center; computer skills necessary to maintain client charts and communication within the organization; excellent communication skills. Must be able to pass an Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Criminal History Unit enhanced background check.
