Description: The Department of History at Baylor University seeks an
Assistant or Associate Professor in Early American History (colonial to early 19th century) to start August 1, 2025. This is a full-time, tenure-track position with the possibility of tenure for highly qualified applicants.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a research and teaching agenda appropriate for an R-1 institution. Preference will be given to candidates who meet one or more of the following: a record of published scholarship, teaching experience, a capacity to mentor Ph.D. students, and a potential to seek external research funding.

Qualifications: The successful candidate:
- will possess an earned doctorate by August 2025 in the appropriate field of study;
- will demonstrate a research and teaching agenda appropriate for an R-1 institution.

- teaching experience;
- a capacity to mentor Ph.D. students;
- potential to seek external research funding.
