Are you an experienced AWS Administrator with a strong background in Amazon RDS? We're looking for a skilled AWS professional to join our team on a long-term contract. In this role, you'll be supporting our cloud infrastructure, focusing on optimizing, managing, and maintaining Amazon RDS and other AWS resources. This is a remote opportunity, providing flexibility while contributing to exciting projects with cutting-edge technology.
Responsibilities:
Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Amazon RDS databases.
Configure, monitor, and optimize RDS instances for high performance, scalability, and security.
Work with development teams to plan and implement best practices in database architecture and management.
Automate infrastructure and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual workload.
Ensure data backups, recovery, and disaster recovery plans are in place and tested regularly.
Monitor and troubleshoot any performance issues within the AWS environment.
Keep up-to-date with AWS services, tools, and best practices to ensure an optimal cloud environment.
Requirements:
Proven Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years in AWS administration, specifically with Amazon RDS.
Technical Skills: Strong hands-on experience with AWS services like EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, and IAM.
Database Expertise: Solid understanding of database management, optimization, and performance tuning in RDS.
Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
Security and Compliance: Familiarity with AWS security best practices, encryption, and compliance standards.
Problem Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to preventing issues before they impact performance.
Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, DevOps, and other IT stakeholders.
Certifications: AWS certifications are a plus but not required.
