Title: CNC Operator (Includes CNC, Boring Mill, and Gun Drill)

Job Description

The CNC operator is required to program their cutter paths, set up their jobs, and operate various 3axis and 5axis machining centers. They are also required to interpret mold designs for roughing, semi and finish cutting. Cutting consist of aluminum and steel blocks for cavities, cores, details, actions, manifolds, nesting and fixturing.

This position is obligated to follow the ISO 9001:2015 standard to ensure compliance within their scope of work.

Job Duties

• Operate CNC Machining Centers;
  • Powermill, Cimatron and WorkNC Usage
  • Do your own setup, programming and checking
• Measuring Devices – Micrometers, Telescopic Gages, Calipers / Dial Indicators
• Operate a crane and hilo to load blocks
• Cut Cores, Cavities, Details, and Manifolds
• Contribute to team effort by performing additional tasks and accomplishing related results as needed.
• Continually maintain a database of machine programs and revisions
• Manage the cleanliness of the CNC machine and biowaste
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Qualifications

• 5 years’ experience in cutting, programming and cnc machine operation
• Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail
• Strong understanding of cutters and cnc set up
• Powermill, Work NC and Cimatron experience
• FCS, Hirschmann, and best practice knowledge
• Shop math and logic required for CNC operation
• Outstanding communication ability in English
• Experience in reporting and using key production metrics
