Job Description

JOB SUMMARY

The D.C. United Director of Security is responsible for the management, oversight, and day-to-day security of Audi Field, Segra Field, and the United Performance Training Center. This position will be required to fulfill all security needs and requirements as well as support all events, including D.C. United matches, Loudoun United FC matches, Washington Spirit matches, the security requirements related to the FanDuel Sportsbook at Audi Field, and all other events taking place at either facility. This individual will work with company executives and key stakeholders, to create and institute an approach to daily business operations where safety and security are paramount. The Security Director will report to the Director of Events and Facilities and the Director of Operations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review and consistently update policies, procedures, and protocols to keep up with current standards and evolution of security threats.
  • Oversee SPO and other hourly security and surveillance personnel responsible for routine stadium patrol and incident reporting.
  • Liaise with FanDuel Sportsbook and Office of Lottery and Gaming to ensure daily security requirements are met within the sports book.
  • Regularly monitor security cameras for suspicious activity.
  • Maintain access control systems at the United Performance Center and other venues, as needed.
  • Complete detailed reports by recording observations, information, and occurrences.
  • Investigate and generate reports on all incidents occurring on property.
  • Identify and challenge all suspicious/unknown person(s) found on property.
  • Prepare security operations plans for special events.
  • Maintain venue security/emergency documents and lead annual tabletop discussions.
  • Work closely with Company Operations department, MLS (Major League Soccer), and USL (United Soccer League) personnel to ensure compliance with league standards.
  • Liaise with contract security and MPD staffing for stadium events.
  • Maintain relationships with local law enforcement and other local stakeholders.
  • Ability to take direction from team officials in the best interest of the organization.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • College degree preferred
  • NIMS Incident Command Certification preferred
  • Experience in crowd management required
  • Proof of Covid-19 Vaccination required

  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Bilingual preferred.
