Job Summary

Working as the Executive Sous Chef, you will play an outstanding role in the culinary operations at Mercersburg Academy. This position offers a remarkable opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a dynamic and high-reaching environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Executive Chef in leading cost controls and controlling expenditures for the account
• Plan and develop diverse menus in collaboration with the Executive Chef
• Coordinate and implement outstanding catering events
• Implement new culinary programs in conjunction with the Company marketing and culinary team

Preferred Qualifications:

• A.S. in Culinary Arts or equivalent experience
• Validated experience in dynamic culinary/kitchen management, depending on formal degree or training
• Catering experience is a plus
• Highly desirable experience in high volume, complex foodservice operations
• Institutional and batch cooking experience is beneficial
• Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a strong focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Email, and the Internet
• Willingness to participate in client happiness programs and activities
• ServSafe certification is highly desirable
