What you will do  

We are seeking an experienced and energetic  Finance/Accounting Level 1  to join our growing dynamic team! The ideal candidate will be driven, innovative, compassionate, believe in the goodness of people and cannabis, and enjoys the one team, one dream motto! This role is responsible for preparing and analyzing a variety of financial, accounting and operational data, journal entries and reports. This person reports directly to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis and Senior Accountant.

Highlighted Responsibilities

 

• Assist in the compilation and maintenance of a variety of sales, operational, and financial data.
• Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for senior management.
• Conduct and summarize market research on competitors' products and pricing.
• Work on improving the efficiency of financial planning & analysis processes using technology solutions.
• Analyze monthly operating results and sales trends.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and monthly revenue forecasts.
• Provide insight into past performance and future trends and distill learnings and KPI's into actionable information.
• Provide ad-hoc analysis to resolve issues and support business decisions.
• Provide procedure documentation of all financial planning and analysis processes.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations and prepare journal entries as needed.
• Assist accounts payable with ad-hoc duties as needed.
• Prepare monthly sales & excise tax filings, maintaining knowledge of any upcoming potential tax rate changes.
• Review and analyze purchase receipts for monthly credit card posting to ensure proper coding for posting journal entries.
• Pre[are and compile data to be used in inventory calculations.
• Complete additional assigned duties on a timely, professional basis.

Qualifications

 

• 21 years or older.
• 4-year finance or accounting degree and 2+ years of general finance/accounting experience required.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required, including advanced formulas, pivot tables, and Power Query.
• Experience with SQL, Qlik, Visual Basic and/or Power BI highly preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and proven experience in analysis, modeling, and reporting financial performance.
• Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize effectively, including flexibility to changing priorities.
• Ability to cross-functionally communicate clearly and concisely, verbally and in writing.
• Ability to approach sizable workload with positive energy, enthusiasm and professionalism.
• Must be able to keep company matters strictly confidential.
• Must have excellent interpersonal skills and exhibit emotional intelligence.
• Must be organized and able to process large amounts of information.
• A team-player attitude that helps to guarantee the success of the entire business.
• The willingness to take on new tasks and the ability to learn those you don't know.
