About The Role:
The Finance Director is a newly created strategic role. Reporting to the COO and working closely with the operations team, you will lead all financial functions across the company and its subsidiaries-including financial management, treasury, forecasting, accounting, tax, and reporting. You'll drive operational efficiency, ensure compliance, and build the financial foundation to support our next phase of growth.
What You'll Do:
Strategic Financial Leadership
- Lead annual budgeting and support strategic financial modeling
- Manage relationships with tax advisors, banks, and auditors
- Maintain strong ties with investment firms and bankers
- Partner with COO and legal to oversee incentive compensation programs
Accounting, Financial Management & Reporting
- Oversee financial reporting and statement preparation
- Manage UK/Netherlands accounting with local Finance Manager
- Lead accounting, tax, and AP with strong internal controls
- Direct annual audit and ensure regulatory compliance
- Partner with broker-dealer controller on reporting and scalability
- Guide accounting standards and supervise global finance staff
Financial Systems Management
- Manage and enhance NetSuite functionality.
- Support broker-dealer accounting and align Kiwi billing updates with reporting and control needs.
- Partner with People Ops to ensure seamless system integrations.
Compliance & Internal Controls
- Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements.
- Drive policies that improve financial and operational efficiency.
Cash Flow, Banking & Treasury
- Manage cash flow and ensure operational liquidity.
- Oversee banking relationships and assess key financial products to support risk management.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's in business, accounting, finance, or related field; MBA/CPA preferred
- 10+ years' experience in financial/accounting leadership; Big 4 background a plus
- Strong accounting, audit, and financial market knowledge
- Experience in mid-size, growth-stage private firms; fintech exposure ideal
- Skilled in optimizing financial performance, managing risk, and ensuring compliance
- Strategic, organized, and self-directed with high integrity
- Strong EQ and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Clear communicator with the ability to lead and influence
- Detail-oriented with excellent time management and prioritization skills
- Proactive, professional, and team-oriented
- Onsite role based in Chicago
- U.S. work authorization required (no sponsorship)
