Mid Level Hydrogeologist / Environmental Geologist Qualifications:
- California Registered Professional Geologist required
- Current Certified Hydrogeologist CHG or on-track to obtain CHG is a plus
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in environmental remediation, including well design, installation, development, groundwater sampling, and data interpretations.
- Strong Technical Writing Skills.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Able to serve as both a team leader and team player.

Mid Level Hydrogeologist / Environmental Geologist Role and Responsibilities :
Field Data Collection and Oversight:
Prepare for field events including ensuring all necessary subcontracts are in place, all materials and equipment are in hand, and any training or reviews are completed prior to mobilization.
Review and understand all relevant work plans and health & safety plans prior to initiating field work.
Fulfill data quality objectives (DQOs) for all field collected data and samples; responsible for data quality during pre-field preparations, field work execution, sample management, and documentation.
Supervise subcontractor drilling and well installation activities and evaluate subcontractor performance against project quality objectives, state regulatory requirements, and scope.
Supervise junior level staff and field technicians, including oversight and review of field data collection.
Prepare detailed daily field reports for customer and project file.
Interpret soil/rock cores, describe site lithology per USCS and site/regional knowledge.
Ability to sample all environmental media: soil, groundwater, sediment, surface water, air/vapor, and/or waste, per established SOPs and approved sampling and analysis plans.
Complete all required field documentation and maintain project files.
Data Evaluations/Conceptual Site Model (CSM) Development:
Develop sampling plans to support development and refinement of conceptual site models per established project objectives and approved work plans.
Research and develop accurate and relevant descriptions of site geology and hydrogeology, including geologic/hydrogeologic/geochemical/biological/etc. controls on contaminant fate and transport.
Develop groundwater elevation contour maps, calculate gradients (horizontal, vertical), and estimate groundwater flow directions.
Review and evaluate analytical results and field measurements against current CSM and project DQOs.
Evaluate potential contaminant pathways and receptors, fate and transport, including analytical and digital modeling.
Produce data visualization products (work with CADD and/or GIS).
Write routine and special reports including work plans, tech memos, site characterization/remedial investigation reports, periodic monitoring reports.
Project Administration and Support:
Support project managers in tracking schedules, deliverables, and costs.
Prepare progress and cost reports for assigned tasks.
Procurement activities including developing scopes of work, researching subcontractors, pricing, tracking status of bids, and coordinating with buyer/subcontract manager.
Support marketing and proposal efforts as assigned.
