Under the direction of the Business Application Support Information Technology Manager I, the Information Technology (IT) Specialist I works both independently and as part of a team to develop, configure and maintain custom software (Microsoft .NET Framework), as well as provide backup support for Software as a Service (SaaS) solutions (Microsoft Teams, Sharepoint and Salesforce) solutions.

The incumbent performs software development, systems analysis, software configuration, unit testing, peer code review, implementation and support for System Development project utilizing cloud-based application (AWS / Azure DevOps) and Microsoft .NET Software Development Framework.

The Information Technology Specialist I uses analytical skills to interpret requirements and develop accessible solutions deployed as web-based applications. When required, the incumbent researches technologies and collaborate with other developers on multi-system projects.

Desirable Qualifications

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

  • Strong working knowledge in application / software development utilizing Microsoft Visual Studio ASP.NET MVC with Razor, C#, Web API, JavaScript, J-Query, HTML 5, CSS 3, XML/XSLT, Team Foundation Service (TFS), Azure DevOps, AWS.
  • Strong working knowledge utilizing Microsoft SQL, SSRS, Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Knowledge and experience in Microsoft Teams, Office 365 and SharePoint Online administration.
  • Knowledge and experience in Salesforce administration.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI.
  • Ability to troubleshoot the most complex information technology systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including IT documentation.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Understanding of the importance of good customer service and the necessity of effective communication to meet customer’s business needs.
