Job Description

We are excited to invite applications for the role of Commercial Insurance Underwriter, specializing in commercial auto insurance. While we have a preference for candidates based in Florida, we are open to considering applicants from surrounding Gulf and Eastern Seaboard states for this remote position.

In this role, you will report directly to the Underwriting Operations Manager and play a vital part in evaluating new business submissions to determine eligibility for coverage. Your expertise will guide you in carefully assessing each application to ensure the risks align with our underwriting guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:
- Review initial information provided by prospective insureds and agents.
- Prepare quotes while maintaining open lines of communication with prospective insureds and agents until the policy is bound or a decision is made not to move forward.
- Price and rate new submissions in accordance with established guidelines, and collaborate with the Underwriting Operations Manager as needed.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with insureds and agents.
- Provide excellent customer service throughout the underwriting process.
- Contribute to achieving and sustaining production goals.
- Support Underwriting Assistants with specific endorsement requests and ensure the accuracy of bind requests.
- Assist Renewal Underwriters with renewal evaluations, revisions, and processing bind requests as necessary.
- Handle a variety of administrative tasks to support the underwriting team.

Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of experience in commercial insurance underwriting.
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong attention to detail.
- A college degree is preferred but not required.
