Job Description

Position Summary:

University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Health Care Information Systems is seeking an IT Support Consultant. Under the general direction of the team lead, the Identity Management Analyst is a member of the Identity Management and Access Team providing identity and access management services to the University of Iowa Health Care. The position involves analyzing business requirements and designing solutions for system access; responsible for the operational aspects of access management ensuring we maintain safe and secure systems; and participate in high level design sessions and collaborate with cross-functional teams to continuously refine existing processes.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Follow all aspects of IdAM processes to ensure correctness of setup and appropriateness of authorizations.
  • Monitor and work the tickets in the support queue. Ensure timely completion and documentation of all work orders.
  • Provide and coordinate second-tier support by telephone and electronically to the University of Iowa Health Care.
  • Perform other duties in support of the mission and objectives of Health Care Information Systems within the University of Iowa Health Care.
  • Provide primary operational support for Active Directory and a wide range of diverse clinical information environments by following established procedures.
  • Work closely with the various groups within Health Care Information Systems (HCIS) for escalation of technical issues for troubleshooting and problem resolution.
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration across functional groups within Health Care Information Systems and UI Health Care.
  • Assist with training students and end users on basic workflows as needed.
  • Help document and maintain knowledge on account management processes policies, including practices for additions, modifications, and deletions of accounts.
  • Assist with the implementation of approved projects and services within a functional area.
  • Participate in rotating on-call responsibilities.

Pay Grade:

Salary: $49,511 to commensurate - 4A

Education Required

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience working with complex, integrated IT systems and applications.
  • Ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to new and changing situations.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail with strong organization skills.
  • Experience documenting procedures and instructions.
  • Experience working with technical and non-technical staff and end users.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively in a team-based environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience extracting, analyzing, and manipulating large amounts of data to perform mass updates and / or analysis. (i.e. familiarity with SQL, Excel, Access, or the like)
  • Experience working in a healthcare or health industry environment.
  • Familiarity with healthcare job classifications and/or roles.
  • Experience working with confidentiality requirements as set by HIPAA, FERPA, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Knowledge and/or experience with any of the following: identity management account and entitlement lifecycle; federated identity management; privilege accumulation; role-based access control (RBAC); authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA).
