Job Description

Use your creativity and design expertise to help clients achieve the living spaces of their dreams! Our dedicated team of professionals is looking for a skilled designer who wants to be part of a fun, growing business.

The Designery South Jordan is a new kitchen, closet, and bath remodeling company coming to the South Jordan Towne Center. It is a locally owned outlet of The Designery national brand.

We seek a highly motivated and experienced designer to join our team and work in our retail showroom. The Kitchen and Closet Designer will work in a retail environment with customers and builders to assist with the design and product selection process. This position will also follow up with customers and builders to ensure the job is completed on time. The Kitchen and Closet Designer must also possess an extensive knowledge of the products they represent and the ability to serve their client's needs.

Additionally, you will be responsible for driving sales by identifying and developing new business opportunities, while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. You will play a pivotal role in promoting our products and ensuring client satisfaction while increasing brand awareness in our community.

Exceptional Customer Service & Showroom Performance
  • Provide exceptional customer service by listening to client's needs, offering design solutions, and providing product recommendations promptly and diligently.
  • Handle general opening and closing duties associated with the design showroom and ensure every guest encounters a pristine showroom in a welcoming & hospitable environment.
  • Provide expert advice, product recommendations, and design insights to assist customers in making informed purchasing decisions.
Sales Generation:
  • Proactively identify and pursue new sales opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Execute strategies to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Attend trade shows and events to expand knowledge and stay informed about new product releases and design trends.
Client Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with contractors, builders, architects, interior designers, and homeowners.
  • Provide excellent customer service and act as a trusted advisor throughout the sales process.
Product Knowledge:
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of our product lines including kitchen cabinetry, bathroom fixtures, closet systems, appliances, and accessories.
  • Stay current on industry trends, product developments, and competitor offerings.
Proposal & Design Development:
  • Create detailed design plans and 3D renderings using design software such as ProKitchen and ClosetPro.
  • Prepare and present proposals, quotes, and presentations to clients.
  • Collaborate with the design team to create customized solutions that align with client requirements.
Sales Pipeline Management:
  • Manage the sales pipeline effectively by tracking leads, opportunities, and sales activities using CRM software.
  • Follow up on leads, negotiate terms, and close sales transactions.
Collaboration and Coordination:
  • Work closely with internal teams including design, installation, and customer support to ensure a seamless experience for clients from sale through installation.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, from initial design concept to installation, is vital.
  • Provide regular reports to management on project status, sales performance, and customer feedback.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven track record in sales, preferably in the kitchen, bath, or home improvement industry.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with both clients and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of design principles and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Ability to work independently, be self-motivated, manage time effectively, and prioritize tasks.
  • Must be able to take initiative, embrace new challenges, and have excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong team player and able to collaborate with all departments to create a quality outcome for our clients.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with clients, architects, builders, and designers.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, respond to clients and contractors quickly, and meet deadlines.
  • Positive attitude, a passion for design, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
Education and Experience:
  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, interior design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful experience in sales, design, or relevant industry experience.
  • Experience in design software such as ProKitchen and ClosetPro preferred.
  • Technological proficiency including CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • 3+ years of experience in kitchen, bath, or closet design preferred.
  • Marketing and social media experience preferred.
