Position Overview:
As the Logistics Distribution Manager, you will play a crucial role in directing and coordinating all warehouse and shipping operations. This position involves managing personnel and overseeing supply chain transportation, reporting directly to the President. You will collaborate closely with the executive team to shape overall strategy and make key business decisions. This role will also include accountability for the performance of our distribution facility in Cheyenne, Wyoming.
Attendance & Schedule:
This is a full-time position that requires consistent attendance. You will work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with the potential for a Monday through Thursday schedule. Some travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, prioritize, and direct all activities in the Denver departments, ensuring a safe and positive work environment.
Develop and implement the overall strategy for our Cheyenne replenishment facility.
Manage daily logistics operations, leading teams in shipping and warehouse functions.
Maintain operations by evaluating, coordinating, and enforcing policies and procedures.
Oversee departmental productivity and quality standards for distribution supply chains in both locations.
Lead and mentor the operations team, fostering a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Ensure compliance with routing and on-time shipments, optimizing staff utilization for maximum efficiency.
Stay current with logistics and supply chain technologies and trends.
Manage departmental budgets and recommend staffing levels to meet operational needs.
Assist with inventory control and ensure accurate record-keeping.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Operations/Supply Chain Management or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of management experience in a fast-paced distribution center environment.
Strong knowledge of safety practices and distribution principles.
Proven experience in team management, training, and operational strategy development.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Proficiency in data analysis and experience with Warehouse Management Systems; knowledge of Oracle WMS is a plus.
Ability to operate electric and gas-powered forklifts and obtain necessary certification.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 30 lbs frequently and 50 lbs occasionally, with assistance as needed.
Capability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours) and perform bending, twisting, and reaching activities.
Must possess manual dexterity and visual acuity to use computers and warehouse equipment.
Must be adaptable to change and work well under pressure.
