The ideal candidate will provide the highest quality customer service to patients, adhere to practice protocols and processes, and effectively manage the volume of work without allowing quality to be compromised.

Summary

As a medical receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors. Your responsibilities will include greeting patients, scheduling appointments, answering phone calls, and maintaining patient records. Additionally, you will be responsible for handling insurance information and verifying patient information. The ideal candidate should have excellent communication and organizational skills, as well as a friendly and professional demeanor. Essential Duties and Responsibilities may include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

· Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.

· Answering phone calls and responding to inquiries or directing calls to the appropriate department.

· Maintain patient records and update information in athenahealth.

· Distribute forms to patients and review them for completion of required fields.

· Answer patient questions and provide assistance and directions when necessary.

· Utilize our medical office software to schedule new and follow-up appointments for our patients.

· Register new patients and update necessary records.

· Process patient payments in the office.

· Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.

· Provide administrative support to the clinical team as needed.

· Managing office supplies and maintaining an organized and clean reception area.

· Assisting patients with completing necessary forms and paperwork.

Qualifications

· Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

· Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Knowledge of dental or medical office procedures and terminology.

· Familiarity with medical office systems (athenahealth, etc.).

· Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.

· Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.

· Customer service-oriented mindset with a friendly and professional demeanor.

Education/Experience

High school diploma or equivalent.

Prior experience in a medical office or customer service role.

Experience with EMR software -- Athena EMR and Phreesia experience is strongly preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $21.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 42 per week
