The University of Washington (UW), Department of Pediatrics is currently recruiting for up to two positions at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank, on the Clinical Practice Track. Specific rank will be commensurate with experience and qualifications as generally described in UW?s Faculty Code Section 24-34 .
Positions are available beginning in Summer 2025; a specific start date is negotiable.
In addition to clinical work, teaching, scholarship, and service are integral to all Clinical Practice positions. The initial appointment period will be three years, at a minimum, with eligibility for renewal thereafter. Faculty on the clinical practice track hold multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. Clinical Practice track appointments are not eligible for tenure.
The base salary range for this position will be: Assistant Professor of Clinical Practice $13,641 - $20,461 per month ($163,692 - $245,532 annually), Associate Professor of Clinical Practice $16,487 - $24,730 per month ($197,844 - $296,760 annually), Professor of Clinical Practice $19,820 - $29,729 per month ($237,840 - $356,748 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. This range is inclusive of base salary provided through the UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan, in addition to base salary provided by the University. Please note that only compensation provided by the University is included in University benefit determinations and calculations. Compensation provided by UW Physicians (UWP) practice plan may provide eligibility for separate benefits offered by that organization.
Other compensation associated with this position may include incentive through Children?s University Medical Group practice plan. Additional administrative responsibilities may be offered to a specific candidate with appropriate experience and qualifications which may result in an administrative supplement (ADS).
Duties will include providing inpatient and outpatient clinical care including the use of flexible bronchoscopy, and teaching, as well as active participation in Divisional and Departmental activities. The scholary focus will align with the Division of Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine at Seattle Children?s Hospital, and the candidate will interact with medical students, residents, and pulmonary fellows in training .
Rank is commensurate with experience and qualifications. This position is a full-time appointment.

The successful candidate must have an MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent), medical licensure in the state of Washington and Board Eligibility or Certification in Pediatric Pulmonary Medicine (or foreign equivalent) and have completed a US accredited pediatric pulmonary fellowship program by the start date of employment.
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
