Job Description

We have an immediate need for a  Packaging Engineer  with expertise in  packaging development, materials, and manufacturing. The consultant’s key role will be to develop specifications and test new  packaging for our client, an exciting, innovative major retail brand. This will require managing multiple  packaging projects simultaneously, working and collaborating with cross-functional teams and suppliers to develop and test new  packaging , effectively communicate the results, and making recommendations on next steps. Additionally, the consultant will be responsible for maintaining and operating  packaging lab test equipment and maintaining and creating specifications in the Catalyst system.

This is an ongoing Contract opportunity located near the Atlanta, GA airport. Travel can be expected from 10% to 25%.

Qualifications

• Education : Bachelor's Degree in  Packaging Engineering,  Packaging Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
• Experience : 5+ years of professional experience in a  packaging function
• Key Requirements:
  • Expertise in  packaging development, materials, and manufacturing
  • Packaging design experience
  • Proven ability in effectively managing multiple  packaging projects through testing and roll out phase
  • Experience working closely with internal teams and suppliers within a cross-functional environment
• Other:
  • Ability to build effective relationships and influence across multiple levels in an organization
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office programs, especially Excel
  • Demonstrated excellence of both written and verbal communication skills

• History of successful project management, time-management, and prioritization skills

• Ability to move work forward in an environment of urgency
• Comfortable working through ambiguity
