Translational Model Development Co-Op

 

Summary:

 

The Co-op Student performs as a member of the R&D team. The Student conducts R&D duties, including but not limited to product development, verification/validation testing, laboratory studies, laboratory maintenance, data analysis, execution of projects, and other tasks as assigned. The Student is expected to prioritize and manage multiple and simultaneous work assignments as directed by members of the R&D team and the R&D Manager. The Student is expected to comply with established safety guidelines and perform duties according to standard operating procedure (SOP) when applicable. Hollister operates in a hybrid work environment.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Tasks related to in vitro model development to support translational skin health studies
    • Hands-on laboratory studies and bench testing
    • Development of test methods
    • Literature review and experimental design
    • Preparation of reagents, test samples and prototypes
    • Creation and maintenance of accurate laboratory records in compliance with department and company policy
    • Assistance in maintaining laboratory equipment and materials inventory
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

 

Academic Credentials/Length of Experience

  • Participation in a Co-operative Education program requires enrollment in an accredited program of study leading to a Baccalaureate or Masters degree in an engineering or science discipline.

Specialized skills/technical knowledge

  • Prior academic course-associated laboratory or research laboratory experience
  • Coursework in chemistry, biology, engineering, mathematics and / or statistics
  • Experience in collection and recording of data
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to follow procedures and cooperate with other team members
  • Demonstration of interest in research subject or product development, team activities and desire to positively contribute to outcomes
  • Knowledge of design controls will be useful but not required

 

Other requirements

Regular attendance is expected. R&D Manager may permit scheduling around concurrent course schedules on a per case basis. Reliable transportation to Hollister’s Libertyville headquarters is required.
