Positions Summary

  • Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
  • Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
  • Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
  • Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems by using advanced engineering tools.
  • Serves as a technical expert by coaching, developing, and reviewing work from other employees.
  • Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross- disciplinary teams.
  • Significantly contributes to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
  • Work across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
  • Work close to the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).

Requirements

R&D Electrical/Electronic Engineer (System Engineer)

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline.
  • Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in R&D is preferred.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams located in different locations/countries.
  • Experience in design of complex systems solutions including several engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining and/or aerospace industry.
  • Experience in designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multiple disciplines.
  • Experience in designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multiple disciplines.
  • Experience with equipment deployments on vessels.
  • Advanced working knowledge in electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining or aerospace).
  • Ability to provide guidance and mentoring to more junior engineers as needed.
  • Knowledge and participation in patent processes.
  • Prepare and deliver project status reports regularly to various stakeholders.
  • Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
  • Knowledge of vessels structure and process.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in leading Risk Assessment, FMEA, other reliability tools.
  • Knowledge and working experience in oil field equipment.
  • Knowledge in designing system automation using robotics is desirable.

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar discipline.
  • Completion of a master’s or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar discipline is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in R&D is preferred.
  • Experience with multidisciplinary teams located in different locations/countries.

  • Strong background and knowledge in different aspects of control system design, signal processing and analyses, feedback loops and system dynamics. 
  • Knowledge in ROV activities, subsea inspection and autonomous underwater systems is desirable.
  • Knowledge of MIMO for motion planning (sensing, feedback for power/torque).

R&D Electrical/Electronic Engineer (Wireline Engineer)

  • 2 years of experience in R&D is desirable.
  • Experience in designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multi disciplines is desirable.
  • Experience in designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multi disciplines is desirable.
  • Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third party (manufacturers, vendors, and suppliers).
  • Familiarity with Risk Assessment and FMEA.
  • Knowledge in oil field equipment related to wireline and/or digital slickline.
  • Familiarity with power control and communication systems/solutions.
  • Working knowledge of electronic circuit design and in commonly used circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE, etc.) and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD, etc.) applied to embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining or aerospace) is desired.
  • Knowledge in designing models, control design and simulation of electrical and mechanical system with standard software (Matlab, Labview, ROS, PLC software etc.).
