Registered Nurse (RN) Cyberknife/Lung Navigator

In this role, you will: - Work with the interdisciplinary team in radiation oncology to execute a customized plan of care for each unique patient.
- Guide the patient through the treatment process, provide patient education, and assist in scheduling appointments as needed.
- Facilitate interaction between patients and their physician and referring physician(s) as appropriate.
- Navigate patients eligible for lung cancer screenings, including patient outreach, determining eligibility, scheduling screenings, and reviewing results.
- Work collaboratively with our interdisciplinary lung program team to analyze patient findings, and navigate patient care based on recommendations.
- Utilize effective communication to ensure patient and caregiver(s) have appropriate information, understand, and have the capacity and tools to adhere to the individualized treatment plan.
- Contribute to quality-driven performance improvement initiatives.
We require: - Valid New York State RN License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Excellent assessment, communication, and organizational skills
- Proficiency with an EMR (preferred)
- Minimum of two years experience in an outpatient medical office setting
- Healthcare or Customer Service Experience
- Patient Navigation Certification (preferred)
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk working on a computer, standing, bending and reaching
- Knowledge of standard precautions and the ability to utilize appropriate PPE when administering cytotoxic agents and handling bloodborne pathogens and bodily fluids
- Reliable transportation to travel to NYI locations for patient care needs
