This position reports to

Director, Service Operations

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to execute service work as per work instructions and in accordance with ABB quality and safety guidelines. Each day, you will deliver quality customer service planning and execute service work as per customer order and expectation. You will also showcase your expertise by ensuring customer retention by effectively communicating service work timeline and expectations. The work model for the role is onsite. #LI-Onsite This role is contributing to the Process Automation Process Industries division in the Monticello, Mississippi area. You will be mainly accountable for: • Working with the customer while onsite to identify opportunities to improve the customer’s operations and eliminate pain points. • Performing field service tasks, identifying technical issues, and performing analysis through remote or onsite activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. • Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts, and equipment are available and of appropriate quality for service activities. • Acting as trainer when needed, for field service associates and customers.

Qualifications for the role

  • Associate degree in a related field and 8+ years of electrical/electronics, instrumentation or process control related work/military experience required. Or HS diploma/GED and 10+ years of related work/military experience required.
  • Ability to diagnose malfunctioning electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC and perform preventive maintenance using electrical test equipment.
  • Candidate should know how to identify voltage systems that are above the level 240 VAC/870 VDC.
  • Comfortable using basic hand tools.
  • Basic understanding of the paper making process and process control concepts are a plus.
  • Exposure to DCS programming and troubleshooting is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with Server/Client infrastructure and virtualization of architecture is also an advantage.
  • Up to 15% domestic travel maybe required for professional training and assisting other customer locations if practical.
