River Valley Community College is seeking qualified applicants who are interested in adjunct teaching at the College on a course-by-course basis; a strong academic background is required.
Semester: Spring Semester 2026
Scope: We are seeking a mathematics adjunct instructor qualified to teach introductory statistics as well as a range of mathematics courses from entry-level through Calculus II. Courses are offered in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, online, and hybrid formats. Applicants should be comfortable navigating platforms such as Canvas and Zoom, writing mathematics live using tablets or touch-screen monitors, and integrating instructional technology tools such as Desmos, CODAP, and other software. A demonstrated proficiency with these tools is preferred; however, a strong willingness to learn and a commitment to adopting emerging technologies in mathematics education will also be considered.
Minimum qualifications: master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university with a major in mathematics, physics or engineering or a subject area closely related to the teaching field; Prior teaching experience required.
Adjunct Compensation: Compensation will be determined based on the appointed adjunct faculty rank, which is based on education and industry and/or teaching experience.
