AECOM is currently seeking a Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer to support programs throughout the US and OCONUS regions. This is an onsite position. The Senior Electrical Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for leading and managing technical assignments and ensuring the successful commissioning of electrical systems across various projects. This role requires a combination of technical expertise project management skills and leadership abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering:
Lead and oversee the commissioning of electrical systems including power distribution control systems and related equipment
Provide technical peer review of engineering design drawings specifications shop drawings and submittals
Initiate and lead quality assurance and commissioning from design through postoccupancy phases
Develop electrical commissioning specifications and electrical test procedures to validate the installation and performance of power distribution systems and controls
Serve as the Lead Quality Control Verifier for AECOMdeveloped commissioning procedures
Conduct site inspections and audits to verify the readiness of systems and equipment for commissioning
Plan and develop engineering tasks concerned with unique or controversial problems. This involves exploration of subject area definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation and development of novel concepts and approaches
Support project overnight travel estimated at 30% annually
Project Management and Leadership:
Interpret organize execute and coordinate technical assignments with minimal supervision. Supervision is generally limited to assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
Act independently on technical matters requiring extensive progressive experience
Interface with clients on schedules meetings and issues managing client expectations
Advise senior management on project status regularly
Anticipate potential schedule or priority delays and initiate alternative action plans
Comply with AECOM project manager guidelines and reporting duties including project execution deadlines client communication and team utilization
Manage a group of engineers and/or technicians coordinating activities of the unit
Team Responsibilities:
Develop and lead junior midlevel and senior staff providing mentorship direction and motivation on a daily basis and in a strategic manner to ensure AECOM remains an employer of choice for field technical engineers and commissioning professionals
Approve leave for direct reports and input into staff performance and development continuously
Assist staff with annual goal setting and monitor progress towards achieving goals
Qualifications :
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS in Electrical Engineering 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education including design and commissioning experience in a supervisory role
Licensed Professional Engineer (PE)
National Security Clearance
U.S. Citizenship required due to the nature of the work
Valid Drivers License and ability to pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records review
Preferred Requirements:
Strong knowledge of electrical system equipment and design including low and medium voltage power distribution control systems and emergency power systems
Strong knowledge of electrical equipment and system quality control and test procedures
Familiarity with industry standards and regulations such as IEEE NEC and IEC
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics drawings and technical documents
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills
Demonstrable track record in managing the delivery of large complex multidisciplined institutional projects
Ability to develop key and trusted client relationships
Excellent presentation skills necessary for running project meetings
Effective negotiation and dispute resolution skills analytical and decisionmaking abilities
Demonstrated collaborative skills both internally and externally
Experience briefing senior management and nonspecialists on complex technical matters
