About the Role

Our Client is seeking a highly experienced Oracle Upgrade & Re-Platforming Consultant to support modernization efforts for a mission‑critical system (“The Solution”). The system supports multiple departments, operates 24/7, and requires expert handling across Oracle Database, Middleware, OID, WebLogic, and Oracle Forms/Reports.

This is a remote 1099 contract role. Occasional on-site work may be requested depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the upgrade of Oracle Database from 11g/12c to 19c.
• Migrate and upgrade Oracle OID, Oracle Application Server 10g, and WebLogic to 12c.
• Upgrade Oracle Forms and Reports from 10g to 12c.
• Remove legacy Java applet dependencies and modernize UI requirements.
• Re‑sign application JAR files with county‑approved certificates.
• Support OS migration from CentOS to Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL).
• Integrate Oracle Single Sign‑On with Microsoft EntraID (Azure AD).
• Work directly with county team members, providing hands‑on knowledge transfer.
• Ensure all system interfaces continue to operate smoothly post‑upgrade.
• Participate in documentation, troubleshooting, and deployment processes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 5+ years of IT experience, specifically with Oracle technologies.
• Proven expertise with Oracle Database 11g/12c/19c upgrades and migrations.
• Strong experience with Oracle Middleware (OAS, OID) 10g & 12c.
• Hands‑on experience with WebLogic Server 11/12c.
• Proven background upgrading Oracle Forms & Reports 10g/12c.
• Strong Linux/RHEL experience with shell scripting.
• Experience working with Oracle Single Sign‑On.
• Ability to work in complex, mission‑critical environments.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working with government agencies or large enterprise systems.
• Familiarity with Microsoft EntraID (Azure AD).
• Experience re‑signing JAR files and managing certificates.
• Experience modernizing legacy Java or Oracle application environments.Excellent communication skills and ability to support client teams through knowledge transfer.
