Serco is seeking a Senior Software Development and Cyber Security SME to join our team in Dayton, OH. Hybrid work is an option!
The Software Development and Cyber Security subject matter expert will be a full-time consultant for the Serco WBB Consultant (SWC) group. SWC provides subject matter expert advice, solutions, and support to a wide range of DoD (Air Force, Space Force, Navy, Army, Missile Defense Agency) and non-DoD (DHS, HHS) customers. Within DoD, we provide assessment and analysis for the development/fielding of next generation capabilities and for sustainment of existing capabilities. In this position, you will join the SWC’s highly qualified interdisciplinary consultants delivering superior quality solutions to complex issues for a variety of US Government customers.
The Software Development and Cyber Security SME will be a full-time Serco consultant who will provide a full range of SW, IT and Cyber expertise. You will be expected to support a wide variety of projects including working for and with a variety of DoD, Federal, and corporate customers. You will interface with customers on a regular basis to develop project requirements, collaborate and work on integrated teams, and to brief, defend, and support project results. Must be comfortable in a challenging, collaborative, multi-tasking, dynamic, high-tempo, deadline-intensive environment with a flexible work schedule supporting multiple customers. You will work in close collaboration with senior government and commercial customers providing consultation, recommendations, and support. You must also have excellent listening, oral and written communication skills, and work well with customers and colleagues.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: - Serve as SW and cybersecurity subject matter expert working on project teams with other consultants representing multi-disciplinary skillsets
- Plan and execute Software Development Verification and Validations (V&V) assessments
- Advise and support customers on creation and maintenance of custom CI/CD pipelines DevSecOps and Agile Development methodologies
- Conduct independent analysis on existing software development activities to assess risk to cost, schedule, and cyber security
- Employ Software Development and IT (including Cloud) expertise to the benefit of Serco and various clients/customers
- Contribute to the development of a variety of technical documents requiring DevSecOps, Agile, and Cyber Security best practices
- Develop customer briefings and support meetings
- Support bid and proposal efforts involving DevSecOps and Agile Development expertise
- Contribute to customer engagement and business development efforts
- Educate and influence stakeholders, customers, and engineering teams on effective solutions and best practices for integrating Software Assurance into Software Development activities
Qualifications To be successful in this role you will have: - Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Current DoD (8570) Cybersecurity Workforce (CSWF) IAM Level II or equivalent certification desired
- 5-7 years' experience as a software engineer for DoD/DoD-related programs,
- Experience establishing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines for DevSecOps or Agile methodologies
- Experience with creating and maintaining software containerization (using Docker) and managing containers via platforms such as Kubernetes and Amazon ECS.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the Risk Management Framework
- Experience with developing, analyzing, and/or testing security architectures
- Experience analyzing critical technology protections
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Ability to work in a highly dynamic, complex, and deadline-intensive environment
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Cloud Migration and Cloud Security experience desired with working knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure
- Innovative and driven work ethic

- Current Software Development certification in Agile or Scrum
- Active duty military experience or Federal Government civilian service
