SEO Content Strategist

Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 USD Annually

About the Role

We’re seeking a strategic and creative SEO & Content Strategist who can bridge the gap between keyword intelligence and compelling, high-performing content. In this role, you’ll develop and execute SEO-driven content strategies that resonate with humans while performing strongly across traditional search engines like Google and generative engines such as ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Gemini.

As part of a fast-growing web design and development agency, you’ll collaborate closely with technical SEO specialists, marketers, copywriters, and strategists to create content ecosystems that drive visibility, engagement, and business outcomes. This is a hands-on role that blends analytical rigor, storytelling, and forward-looking SEO practices.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct in-depth keyword research with a focus on search intent, content gaps, and competitive opportunities. You will build keyword maps that directly inform blog strategies, core website pages, and supporting content clusters.
• Develop SEO-driven content strategies for clients, including editorial calendars, topic clusters, and pillar and supporting page frameworks. You will write, outline, or oversee high-quality SEO content such as blog posts, page copy recommendations, and detailed content briefs for writers.
• Execute on-page SEO by crafting compelling and optimized meta titles, meta descriptions, header structures, and internal linking recommendations. You will ensure content aligns with SEO best practices while maintaining strong readability and brand voice.
• Apply a strong understanding of generative engine optimization and large language model behavior. You will perform prompt research and optimization to improve the efficiency and relevance of AI-assisted content generation. You will stay current on evolving search, AI, and content trends to proactively inform strategy.
• Collaborate closely with technical SEO specialists, copywriters, content creators, marketing leadership, and the Grow team. You will translate technical SEO insights into clear, actionable content improvements.
• Monitor content performance and organic search trends, recommend content updates and optimizations based on results, and support ongoing SEO reporting with insights tied directly to content performance.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in SEO content strategy or content-focused SEO. 
• Strong keyword research skills using tools such as Ahrefs or SEMrush.
• Excellent writing and editing skills and can translate data into creative, actionable content plans.
• Strong understanding of on-page SEO fundamentals and search intent and are comfortable collaborating across SEO, content, and strategy teams. 
• In-depth knowledge of GA4 and Google Search Console.

Nice to have experience includes 

• Optimizing content for generative search engines and LLMs 
• Working with AI-assisted content workflows
• Building long-term content systems or editorial frameworks 
• Working in a distributed, remote-first environment.
