Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent with a background in federal construction projects to oversee field operations, ensuring that projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. The ideal candidate will have expertise in managing government contracts, enforcing compliance with federal regulations, and leading on-site construction teams. This role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and stakeholders effectively.
Manage daily on-site construction activities, ensuring work is completed according to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
Enforce compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including prevailing wage laws, OSHA safety requirements, and contract guidelines.
Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field personnel to maintain project schedules and quality standards.
Conduct site inspections, progress meetings, and safety audits to ensure adherence to contract requirements.
Maintain project documentation, including RFIs, change orders, daily reports, and jobsite logs.
Act as the primary point of contact for government agencies, military personnel, and contract officers.
Monitor project budgets, track labor and materials costs, and assist in cost control measures.
Ensure strict adherence to federal procurement regulations, Davis-Bacon Act compliance, and LEED or sustainability requirements where applicable.
Identify and resolve construction challenges, delays, and conflicts to maintain project efficiency.
Implement and enforce quality control programs to ensure the highest level of workmanship.
10+ years of experience in construction supervision, with at least 5 years in federal or government-funded projects.
Experience managing projects under USACE, NAVFAC, GSA, VA, or other federal agencies.
Strong knowledge of federal contract requirements, including FAR, EM 385-1-1, and QC/SSHO protocols.
Proficiency in construction management software (Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, etc.).
Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and government specifications.
Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively liaise with government officials, contractors, and team members.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
