The Department of Film and Television Production at Loyola Marymount University's School of Film and Television is searching for two qualified Producers to join the department and provide leadership in the areas of creative and line producing. Both appointments are full-time, tenure-track positions with competitive salary and benefits, to begin August 15, 2025.
MFA or terminal degree in film production or a closely related field required. Interested applicants should have at least 1-2 years university level teaching experience, along with evidence of successful student mentoring.
Candidates are expected to have substantial practical experience (Hollywood, Independent, or International). They should have significant experience of producing projects in the Cinematic Arts (e.g. films, television, games, and emerging media formats).
The selected candidates will help our students understand the logistics of film set management, and/or the process of developing creative ideas into a finished project.
Creative Producing candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following: script/project development for various storytelling modes, pitching and pitch decks, budgeting/scheduling, entertainment law, and current knowledge of distribution markets and emerging media opportunities. Entrepreneurial skills should include finance and business development, marketing, crowd funding, and audience development.
Line Producing candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the following: logistics of film set management and coordination, assistant directing, post producing, pre-production management, scheduling, budgeting, budget management for production and post, bidding, and negotiation.
Selected candidates will teach from among established courses on the graduate and undergraduate level. They will act as advisors to, and may serve as coordinator for, the MFA Creative Producing Concentration in our graduate program.
Candidates will be expected to teach the required full time teaching load of three (3) courses per semester, continue creative work/scholarship, and provide service to the University.
