HOW A TEST AUTOMATION ENGINEER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
As a Test Engineer you will be trusted to evaluate and support development of software, web, telephony, and virtual agent applications.
The tester will perform continuous testing for security, API, and regression suite. The candidate will create automated scripts and supports data and environment configuration. The candidate will also participate in code reviews, monitor, report, and document defects to support continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process.
Responsibilities:
- Participate and collaborate with team members to assess Story Point / complexity efforts (using best practices) to ensure proper testing and delivery of functionality per User Story Acceptance Criteria
- Designs, develops, evaluates, plans and tests engineering specifications for software programs and applications
- Analyze testing outcomes to identify and document design gaps and functionality improvements and transition to Business Analyst
- Apply knowledge of technologies, applications, methodologies, processes, and tools to support product testing
- Be familiar with any NoSQL database
- Participate in Agile software development initiatives (standup, planning, grooming, estimation) to support innovation and enhancement of applications through iteration/functionality testing
- Collaborate with team members (Scrum Master, Product Owner, Software Developers) to develop test approaches with emphasis on automation of recurring/regression test cases through selected toolsets
- Develop and document end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system (JIRA)
- Provide early exploratory testing during the development phase
- Design, code and deploy automated test scripts
- Maintain test documentation, provide support to government test organization, evaluate test results, and provide feedback in a Continuous Integration Continuous Delivery Pipeline WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED: Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience Required Experience: 5+ years s experience or relevant experience/certifications Required Technical Skills:
- Proficient in the different automated software testing methodologies
- Conceptual knowledge on agile integration. Working as part of an agile team utilizing Scrum
- Knowledge of various SDLC methodologies
- NoSQL database familiarity
- Experience with API testing
- Ability to test application developed with commercial-off-the-shelf products
- Experience with developing and documenting end-to-end functionality test case narratives using task management system JIRA
- Proven ability to work independently and as a team member
- Strong organizational, attention-to-detail, multi-tasking, and time-management skills
- Eligibility to receive Federal Public Trust clearance
- Complete Background Investigation in accordance with Section 8.3 of your Subcontract Agreement prior to start of work
- Residency in the US for at least 3 of the last 5 years Preferred Skills:
- Experience with developing test automation framework using Java/Scala REST APIs
- Produce estimates for new functionality or enhancements

The likely salary range for this position is $97,258 - $131,584. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
