GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cape Cod Community College seeks a dedicated Wellness Coach, Promotion and Education Specialist to advance student mental health and wellbeing using a public health approach and Okanagan Charter principles. This role is crucial for expanding therapeutic services, coordinating with partners, and increasing awareness of mental health resources to enhance student success, retention, and completion.  This is a part-time (18 hours per week during academic year only) in-person position and requires travel between campuses. 

EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:

  1. Expand and improve mental health and wellness visibility and resources for students.
  2. Assist in coordinating comprehensive student services, including direct therapeutic services (yoga, mindfulness) and educational workshops, events, and campaigns.
  3. Enhance partnerships with on- and off-campus organizations to ensure student access to community-based services.
  4. Assist in creation and implementation of awareness campaigns about available programs and services.
  5. Compile data and maintain records related to wellness promotion and activities and basic needs using relevant software and databases.
  6. Develop informational materials with marketing team to support access to services and resources.
  7. Assist with development, planning, and implementing wellness education programs, policies, and services aligned with the Okanagan Charter.
  8. Serve as a campus advocate and consultant on wellness-related matters.
  9. Assist in coordination of college conferences, speakers, and events related to wellness, campus well-being, and suicide prevention.
  10. Assist with planning and direct wellness components of orientation and new student programs and trainings.
  11. Deliver and evaluate suicide prevention, basic needs and nutrition, mental health, substance misuse, and bystander workshops and trainings.
  12. Other duties, as assigned.




Job Requirements:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :

  1. Bachelor's degree in public health, social work, sociology, psychology, human services, or related discipline.
  2. Three 3 years of experience in a student-focused, post-secondary education environment developing and implementing health promotion initiatives or student support services or equivalent in a community.
  3. Knowledge of suicide prevention skills, college mental health and essential needs.
  4. Strong knowledge of public health approaches and Okanagan Charter principles.
  5. Excellent communication, presentation, and people skills.
  6. Ability to work collaboratively and in a demanding environment with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Proficiency in data management and reporting, using relevant software and databases (e.g., Maxient, EAB).
  8. Experience in program evaluation and outcome measurement.
  9. Flexibility to work occasional evenings.
  10. Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion principles.
  11. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between campuses.
  12. Experience in marketing and event planning.

Additional Information:

COMPENSATION :      $35.31 per hour, 18 hours per week during the academic year only (September - May). Part-time, non-benefited MCCC Unit position.
