We're seeking a detail-oriented Remote Medical Coder to support the Defense Health Agency (DHA) by maintaining accurate and compliant healthcare records across various Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs). In this role, you'll leverage your coding expertise within government systems and electronic health records (EHR) platforms, such as MHS GENESIS and 3M Encompass 360. Your work will be essential in ensuring the quality and integrity of healthcare data.
Key Responsibilities:
Accurate Coding: Deliver precise and accurate medical coding across multiple healthcare domains, adhering to all relevant regulations and standards.
Government Systems Proficiency: Navigate and utilize government systems effectively to manage and code health records across DHA military treatment facilities.
Electronic Health Records (EHR): Accurately input, verify, and update patient information within EHR platforms such as MHS GENESIS, 3M Encompass 360, or similar systems.
Compliance and Confidentiality: Follow HIPAA and other regulatory standards to protect patient privacy and ensure confidentiality.
Quality Assurance: Conduct regular quality checks to maintain coding accuracy and ensure compliance with established guidelines.

Qualifications:
Experience: 2-3 years of hands-on medical coding experience.
Certification: CPC, CCS, or equivalent coding certification.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in government systems and experience with at least one EHR platform (such as MHS GENESIS, 3M Encompass 360, or a similar system).
Attention to Detail: Strong commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all coding activities.
Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a remote setting.
